2° anno – 2017 – I Giganti dell’Arte dal Teatro – HERMANN NITSCH

Per il suo secondo anno di attività, Casa Morra dedica due stanze a Hermann Nitsch, artista che dalla pittura è approdato al teatro e all’azione performativa, mosso dall’aspirazione alla totalità dell’arte, a cui cerca di avvicinarsi con il suo Orgien Mysterien Theater, una forma di teatro sinestetico che penetra gli abissi dell’inconscio per innescare una reazione catartica. Per l’inaugurazione della mostra “I Giganti dell’Arte dal Teatro”, Hermann Nitsch ha messo in scena nel cortile di Casa Morra la 152. aktion, dove il rituale delle crocifissioni si è unito all’azione pittorica, la 77. Malaktion.

“nel grande cortile di questo complesso residenziale, abbiamo eseguito un’azione con sangue, intestini e pesci sui tavoli, con mio figlio leo, il mio direttore d’orchestra andrea cusumano, il mio assistente josef e numerosi attori attivi e passivi italiani. l’azione della crocifissione e l’azione di pittura sono state unite. tom walker un attore del living theatre ha dichiarato: “se julian beck avesse visto questa azione, si sarebbe sentito molto soddisfatto e compreso”.

Nelle sale dedicategli sono stati esposti anche una serie di relitti delle sue azioni e una riproposizione parziale della “Farmacia”, con contenitori in vetro, vasi, ampolle, flaconi con liquidi organici che mostrano la trasformazione di colore, di consistenza e di odore, proprio come accade con l’uva quando si trasforma in vino.

For its second year of activity, Casa Morra dedicated two rooms to Hermann Nitsch, an artist whose career, driven by his desire for a totality of art, has taken him from painting to theatre and performance, which he seeks to approach through his Orgien Mysterien Theater, a form of synaesthetic theatre that penetrates the depths of the unconscious to trigger catharsis. For the opening of the The Giants of Art from the Theatre exhibition, Hermann Nitsch staged his 152. aktion in the courtyard of Casa Morra, where the crucifixion ritual was combined with a pictorial action, the 77. “in the great courtyard of this residential complex, we performed an action with blood, intestines, and fish placed on tabletops. my son leo, my conductor andrea cusumano, my assistant josef, and numerous active and passive italian actors took part. the crucifixion and painting actions were combined. tom walker, an actor from the living theatre, said: “if julian beck had seen this action, he would have had a great feeling of satisfaction, and he would certainly have understood it”.

The rooms dedicated to Nitsch also housed a series of wrecks from his actions and a partial reworking of the Farmacia, with glass containers, vases, ampoules, and bottles with organic fluids showing the transformation of colour, consistency, and smell, identical to that undergone by grapes when they are transformed into wine.
